FRISCO, Texas — After Houston went man-down five minutes into the game, Petar Moussa and defenseman Sebastian Ibeaga scored second-half goals and Dallas defeated the Dynamos 2-0 on Saturday night.
A red card for midfielder Griffin Dorsey against Houston (4-4-1) gave Dallas (2-5-2) the man advantage.
Still, it took until the 55th minute for Dallas to take the lead. Moussa scored his third goal of the season with an assist from defender Emmanuel Tumasi. And this is the second time in recent weeks. Tumasi's assist was his first of the season.
Dallas scored another goal in the 80th minute when Ibeaga found the back of the net. It was the second career goal for Ibeaga, who found the back of the net once last season, and his first with the club, following stints with New York City FC and Los Angeles FC.
Maarten Paes did not make a save for the third time this season and Dallas' third clean sheet in the last four games.
Steve Clarke stopped four shots for the Dynamos, who allowed a league-low eight goals at the start of the game.
Dallas leads the series with a record of 15 wins, 13 losses, and 9 losses. The two clubs last season ended in a scoreless draw in Houston and a 1-1 tie in Dallas.
Houston acquired attacker McKinze Gaines in a trade with Nashville earlier this week. He came on as a substitute for Sebastian Kowalczyk in the 84th minute, but received a yellow card in the 87th minute, but did not get a shot.
The Dynamo return home to take on St. Louis City on Saturday. Dallas will be on the road to face FC Toronto on Saturday.
