Finals — Star 3, Golden Knights 2 (OT)
Wyatt Johnston ended his start with a goal from a sharp angle past Las Vegas goaltender Logan Thompson with just over three minutes left in the first overtime. It was Johnston's second goal of the game after giving Dallas a 1-0 lead to start the game. End of 3rd period — Stars 2, Golden Knights 2
The third period was scoreless, but it was by no means boring.
The teams pair up and play 20 minutes of intense hockey before going into overtime where the next goal wins the game. If Las Vegas scores, he will take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series. If Dallas scores, it's immediately back to 2-1.
3rd period (13:00 remaining): Both teams remained at two points in the third period, which continued to be a heated game. Logan Thompson continues to stand on his head in goal for the Golden Knights.
End of second period — Stars 2, Golden Knights 2
The score is tied, but it's hard to feel confident if you're a Stars fan who saw Dallas quickly take a two-point lead.
The crucial third period is approaching.
2nd period (6:50 remaining): There's no breathing room left.
Las Vegas attacked again and tied the score with three minutes to play. The situation, which had appeared to be dominated by Dallas throughout the first half of the game, was completely reversed.
2nd period (9:15 remaining): The knights have arrived.
Las Vegas enters the game and energizes the home crowd with a goal that cuts Dallas' lead to 2-1.
2nd period (14:35 remaining): Finally, some space.
Miro Heiskanen converted a fastbreak for Dallas, giving the Stars their largest lead of the series at 2-0. Evgeny Dadonov and Tyler Seguin made quick, sweet passes to set up the score.
2nd period (18:37 remaining): Game 3 was delayed when lineman Devin Berg took a puck to his chin, requiring attention from the Las Vegas training staff. He was a little bloody, but after a short visit with a trainer and the ice cleaned, he was back in the game 1-0.
End of 1st season – 1 star, 0 Golden Knights
It was a dominant first period for the Stars, their best 20 minutes of the series thus far. In fact, they may have gone to the locker room at the first intermission feeling a little disappointed that they could only attack once and couldn't get Las Vegas back on its feet to start this crucial Game 3.
1st period (2:50 remaining): Although the Stars were unable to capitalize on the first power play of the game, they continued to outplay Las Vegas throughout the first period. The shot was 18-6.
1st period (8:49 remaining): The Stars finally broke through.
After outscoring Las Vegas to start the game, Wyatt Johnston grabbed a rebound to take a 1-0 lead and ultimately lead Dallas to victory.
1st period (9:56 remaining): It's still tied at zero thanks to Las Vegas goaltender Logan Thompson. He made a great save from Thomas Hurley to keep the game scoreless.
1st period (14:30 remaining): No points have been scored yet, but the Stars are 5-1 in shots on goal through the first five minutes of Game 3.
Jason Robertson opened the game with a shot that unmasked Las Vegas goaltender Logan Thompson.
