(Dallas, Texas, April 30, 2024) – A new poll from the Texas Hispanic Policy Foundation (TxHPF) shows that Texans of all political and demographic demographics support legislation that would allow the construction and operation of Texas-based destination resort casinos. Roughly three-fifths of Democrats, Republicans, and independents support destination resort casinos, but one-third oppose the construction and operation of these casinos in Texas. less than Twice as many men support casino gambling at resorts, 61% to 27%, while women support less, but still make up a majority of 54%. African Americans show 68% support for casino games, while Hispanics and Anglos support 58% and 54% respectively. The survey was conducted from April 5 to April 10 among a representative sample of 1,600 likely voters in Texas and has an overall margin of error of 2.45 percentage points.
