The Oregon Ducks sent a program-record eight players to the NFL in the 2024 NFL Draft, with five additional Ducks signing as undrafted free agents.
Will this upward trend for the Ducks in the NFL continue into 2025?
According to a mock draft by ESPN, Oregon State is slated to receive another first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Dallas Cowboys drafted Oregon transfer receiver Evan Stewart with the 26th pick in the latest mock.
Let’s talk about homecoming! Stewart is from Frisco, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
Stewart had already turned heads wearing a Ducks uniform during spring football practice. Perhaps coach Dan Lanning's biggest acquisition for the Ducks in this year's transfer portal…the addition of the acrobatic Stewart adds even more depth to Oregon's already impressive wide receiver room.
“I want to show that I'm a jack of all trades,” Stewart said after practice last week. Hands, I'm very fast, very fast. ”
Could Stewart be a star for Dallas alongside receiver CeeDee Lamb? Currently, Lamb, Brandin Cooks, Jalen Tolbert and Cavonte Turpin are the highlights of the Cowboys room.
Stewart, a transfer from Texas A&M, totaled 1,163 receiving yards and six touchdowns in two seasons in College Station, despite suffering a slowdown due to an ankle injury early in the 2013 season. Stewart's undeniable talent and experience made him very popular within the portal, ranking him in the top five overall athletes within the portal.
Stewart's goals for Oregon State's 2024 football season are clear.
“That ball, man. I'm trying to pass it,” Stewart said after practice last week. “(Oregon) suited everything I was looking for. I wanted to join a great program with a lot of order and structure. Everything is much better here. Honestly , I'm happy with my decision.”
