Mavericks are in great shape with an overwhelming victory
Luka Doncic led the Mavericks to a 30-point victory in Game 5 with 35 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds. The 25-year-old superstar averaged an impressive 30.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game in the series despite shooting just 26.3 percent from 3-point range.
Doncic's ability to create for himself and his teammates has been consistent throughout the series, and he looks to continue his strong play in front of his home crowd.
In Game 5, Luka led the Mavericks to victory with 35 points.
Dallas looks to advance, while PG and the Clippers look to force a Game 7.

Kyrie Irving had a relatively quiet performance in Game 5 with 14 points and 6 assists, but will aim to bounce back in Game 6. Before the last tournament, Irving was averaging 28.8 points per game in the series. His scoring and playmaking ability make him a constant threat on offense. If Irving can find a rhythm early on, he could cause problems for the Clippers' defense.
The Mavericks outscored the Clippers 218-170 over the last seven quarters, showing their ability to control the game. They performed well in the second half of the series, winning three out of five games in the second half, and outscoring Los Angeles by large margins in Games 1, 4, and 5.
Clippers are in trouble without Leonard
The Clippers' hopes of forcing a Game 7 took a big hit with the news that Kawhi Leonard will miss his third straight game with a knee injury. Leonard's absence has been felt on both ends of the floor as the Clippers have struggled to generate consistent offense and contain the Mavericks' high-powered offense.
James Harden had an unforgettable performance in Game 5, scoring just seven points on 2-of-12 shooting and committing four turnovers. The former MVP was a reliable scorer in the series, averaging 22.2 points per game on 43.9 percent shooting before struggling in Game 5.

For the Clippers to have any chance of extending the series, Harden will need to get back to scoring and provide a much-needed offensive spark. Paul George, who has been the Clippers' most consistent performer in the series, will have to shoulder a heavy burden in Leonard's absence.
George is averaging 19.8 points, 6 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game and has shown the ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. He had 33 points, six rebounds and eight assists in Game 4, showing his ability to take over when needed.
LA vs DAL player prop picks
In the prop market for NBA players, Doncic entered this game with the highest point total by a wide margin. Doncic's total over/under points for Game 6 is 33.5, with over and under odds equaling -117.

NBA player prop odds as of May. 3. At Caesars Sportsbook.
Considering the player's props, Luka Doncic over points (33.5 at +100 odds) is an attractive option. Doncic has been a scoring machine throughout the series, and with a chance to shut out the Clippers at home, I expect him to come out aggressive and put up big numbers.
Another player prop to consider is Kyrie Irving's assist numbers (4.5 at -122 odds). Irving has had at least five assists in each of his last three games, averaging 5.2 assists per game during his regular season. The Mavericks will likely focus their defensive attention on Doncic, so Irving should have the opportunity to find open teammates and rack up assists.
On the Clippers side, it's worth noting Paul George's points under (24.5 at odds of -115). George has scored more than 22 points just once in the series, but has struggled with efficiency in two of his last three games. Without Leonard to carry the scoring burden, George may find it difficult to consistently put up big numbers against the Mavs' defense.
LA Clippers vs. Dallas Mavericks predictions
The Mavericks have momentum, home court advantage, and a healthy roster going into Game 6. With Luka Doncic playing at an elite level and the team's ability to dominate the second half, Dallas is in great position to shut out the series and move on. On to the second round.
Meanwhile, the Clippers will struggle without Kawhi Leonard. They proved they can win against Dallas early in the series, but the loss of their star forward and James Harden's struggles in Game 5 made the road to victory even more difficult.
The first half is expected to be competitive as the Clippers fight to keep their season alive, but ultimately the Mavericks' firepower and home court advantage were too much to overcome. It should turn out to be something. Look for Dallas to pull away in the second half and secure a series-clinching victory.
My prediction for Game 6 is that the Mavericks will win, cover the spread, and the game will be over the point total line. Consider factoring in Luka Doncic points and Kyrie Irving assists as player prop bets.
LA vs DAL Recommendations:
- Mavs -8 (-110)
- 208 or more (-110)
