The NHL is set for a thrilling Game 7 between the Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights, with opening puck drop scheduled for Sunday night. It's the final first-round series yet to be determined, following Boston's 2-1 overtime win over Toronto at TD Garden on Saturday night, cashing in yesterday's +170 SGP. The first period was scoreless, with Toronto forced into overtime in a low-scoring contest.
Dallas and Vegas have traded blows all series. The first four games were won by road teams, then Dallas and Vegas each won on their home ice, setting up Game 7 tonight at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The Golden Knights have historically performed well in this arena. Despite Vegas avoiding elimination with a 2-0 home win in Game 6, Jack Eichel finished the series opener with no points.
Can the defending Stanley Cup champions advance and defeat Dallas on their third trip of the series? Sunday NHL SGP
(Odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook)
Leg 1: Jason Robertson scores 1+ points (-188)
After a night off from the total points market, we're back here and we start with Jason Robertson scoring at least one point in Game 7. Robertson is an integral part of the Stars' offense, leading the team in total points during the regular season. Dallas was shut out 2-0 on the road, so Game 6 also ended with no points.
Robertson has scored in four of Dallas' last five home games and has scored at least one point in four games this series. At odds of -188, he's the favorite to score his one point, and I think he'll get it done early in Game 7.
Leg 2: Jack Eichel scores 1+ points (-172)
Jack Eichel didn't contribute to the scoring possession in Las Vegas' 2-0 win in Game 6, but he was heavily involved throughout the series. At odds of -172, Eichel averages over 21 minutes on the ice while recording his 19 shots on goal, which is his second-highest mark behind only Jonathan Marchessault.
Eichel has scored points in five consecutive road games at American Airlines Center, which bodes well for us. Additionally, he has skated in the first-line attack and Las Vegas' top power play unit, giving him plenty of opportunities to contribute to the Golden Knights' scoring plays. This is a must-win game and Eichel will be going all in on his ice-making plays, so this is a good Game 2 to insert.
Leg 3: Substitute total goals less than 7.5 (-670)
One of our most stable markets targets the Alternative Total Target Market and dips into the under. Addin Hill recorded his first shutout of the series in Game 6, stopping all 23 shots he faced. Game 7 might score a bit more, but that doesn't mean a total of more than seven goals will be scored.
We saw how Game 5 started, with each team scoring twice in the first period, and Dallas ultimately winning 3-2 in regulation. This could be a similar outcome in Game 7, with both teams looking to start with momentum and early leads. Jake Oettinger hasn't allowed more than two goals since Game 1, but Hill was a little vulnerable in the crease. Oddsmakers favor a goal total of less than 5.5, but just in case the goal is empty in the closing stages or he goes into overtime with the score tied 3-3. Consider less than 7.5.
Leg 4: Vegas Golden Knights Pack Line +1.5 (-210)
Vegas' puckline odds are attractive at -210 odds. The Golden Knights covered the puck line nine times in back-to-back games played at American Airlines Center. This includes underdog wins in five of his last six games played at this venue, with the exception of Game 5, when he lost 3-2.
The Golden Knights stole the momentum in Game 6 at home with two goals in the third period. This will have a big impact early on in Game 7, especially if Vegas can take his 1-0 lead early. The Stars have only won by two goals once in this series, winning 4-2 in Game 4 at T-Mobile Arena. At home, the Stars tend to tighten up, which could make Las Vegas possible. Continue to cover the puck line as an underdog.
Same game parlay: +339
Using these four legs, we were able to push the odds of this same game parlay between Dallas and Las Vegas up to +339. Jack Eichel and Jason Robertson have been busy scoring points in this series, but neither could contribute in Game 6. That all changes in Game 7, as both players tend to get a lot of touches in the offensive zone.
The under team has been hitting lately, so instead of sticking to the 5.5 goal total line set by oddsmakers for Game 7, I'll opt for a total goal count of 7.5 or less. The Golden Knights' success against Dallas cannot be ignored here. It's going to be a close game win or lose, so we're adding Vegas +1.5 at -210 odds to raise the odds for Sunday's Game 7 at SGP to +339.
