The Dallas Mavericks signed head coach Jason Kidd to a contract extension earlier this week, after his name was mentioned in the Los Angeles Lakers' coaching search. With one candidate removed, the role reportedly went to Sean Sweeney, one of Kidd's assistants.
Dan Wojke's latest Lakers mailbag includes: Los Angeles Timesabout the Lakers' ongoing search for a new coach: “But while there is a desire to find someone with experience, sources say that's not the only focus the Lakers have. Yes, that means a coach with an established track record in the big seat on the sideline, but he also seems willing to talk to candidates from the Lakers, such as Denver's David Adelman and Minnesota's Micah. That means considering some of the most highly regarded assistant coaches as well, including those who are still working for the season. Nori, Charles Lee of Boston, and Sean Sweeney of Dallas. ”
