The Mavericks defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in six games and advanced to the next round of the playoffs, where they will face the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Fans looking to make the three-hour drive to Oklahoma City to buy tickets to see a Mavs game beware. Buying tickets can be difficult.
The Thunder restricted Texas fans from purchasing tickets due to concerns that Mavs fans would occupy Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. Fans attempting to purchase tickets online will see the following message:
Paycom Center is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Sales to this event are limited to residents of Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. Your location is determined based on your credit card billing address. Orders placed by residents outside of Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Nebraska will be canceled without notice and refunded.
I'm not sure how the Thunder can police tickets being sold on the second-hand market, but anyone who has ever bought used tickets to an event knows this. that It might not even be worth the trouble!
