On Saturday night, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 6 of the second round of their playoff series.
The Mavs are heading to the Western Conference Finals for the second time in the last three seasons.
They will face Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 1 on Wednesday night at Target Center in Minnesota.
The Timberwolves were the third seed and defeated the Denver Nuggets in the second round.
On Monday, 2016 NBA champion point guard Kyrie Irving’s post on X received more than 16,000 likes and nearly 500,000 impressions.
Irving writes: “Dear tribesmen, don’t be fooled by the propaganda here. No matter what, unite and continue to seek the truth. God, number one Hera 🤞🏾🪶♾❤️”
Irving played 42 minutes in Game 6 against the Thunder, making 9/23 from the field and 4/10 from 3-point range, recording 22 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists.
He is in his second season with the Mavs and has proven to be a great fit playing next to superstar forward Luka Doncic.
The Mavs finished the regular season as the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference (50-32), defeating James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round (and beating the Thunder before that).
The winner of the series (Mavs vs. Timberwolves) will advance to the NBA Finals and face either the Boston Celtics or Indiana Pacers.
The series begins with Game 1 on Tuesday night in Boston.
