Both teams released injury reports for this game (updated as of 3:30 ET).
The Mavs have ruled out signings Maxi Kleber and Olivier-Maxence Prosper, with All-Star forward Luka Doncic listed as a likely candidate.
Doncic should probably be available.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves have starting point guard Mike Conley listed as questionable, and no one else is on the injured list for Game 1.
The Mavs are the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 50-32 record.
They defeated the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder in the first two rounds of the playoffs.
The Mavs missed the NBA playoffs last season, but made it to the conference finals in 2022.
As for the Timberwolves, they are the third seed in the Western Conference with a 56-26 record.
They defeated the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets in the first two rounds of the playoffs.
Last season, the Timberwolves lost to the Nuggets in the first round.
Game 2 of the series will be played Friday night (also at Target Center).
The winner of the series will advance to the NBA Finals and face either the Boston Celtics or Indiana Pacers.
The Celtics lead 1-0 in this series with Game 2 to be played Thursday night in Boston.
The Celtics advanced to the conference finals for the third consecutive year.
