COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Texas A&M University baseball team was seeded No. 3 in the nation and earned the right to host a regional tournament in the NCAA baseball tournament.
The Aggies (40-13) will face Grambling State (26-26) in the regional opener at noon on Friday, May 31. The game can be viewed on ESPN+. The Tigers won the SWAC Tournament.
Texas (35-22) and Louisiana (40-18) meet in the other first-round game Friday at 5 p.m. on ESPNU.
The regional qualifiers will be in a double elimination format.
The 64-team field was announced Monday morning, with No. 1 Tennessee, No. 2 Kentucky and No. 4 North Carolina joining the Aggies in the top four.
The winner of the Bryan-College Station Regional will face the winner of the UC Santa Barbara Regional in the Super Regional. The winner of the best-of-three Super Regional will advance to the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
This marks Texas A&M’s third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and the 38th in school history.
Tickets for limited turf/SRO and/or Section 12 all sessions will go on sale to the public beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28. Once all sessions are no longer on sale, players should check the 12th Man Foundation website prior to each game for individual ticket availability, according to a release from Texas A&M.
