Tornado warning sirens rang in downtown Dallas on Monday as a hailstorm approached Dallas County, Texas, amid “severe thunderstorm” warnings in effect for parts of Texas until late into the night. The National Weather Service (NWS) warned residents of Texas cities, including the suburbs of Denton and Tarrant, that powerful storms were approaching the area.
Several Dallas residents took to social media to express concern over tornado warning sirens they heard early today, as the National Weather Service in Fort Worth issued warnings, although no tornado warnings have been issued so far for the Texas city.
However, a severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for eastern Tarrant County and northwest Dallas County until 8 PM CDT.
At 7:13 p.m. CDT, severe thunderstorms developed over Haast.
