Presidential candidate Donald Trump has put one of his private jets up for sale as he seeks to liquidate assets to pay mounting legal costs as he fights criminal charges and more than $450 million in judgments. The latest owner is a Dallas-Fort Worth real estate mogul and major Republican donor.
Centurion American Development Group CEO Mehrdad Moayedi has purchased a 1997 Cessna Citation X jet, estimated by private aviation company EvoJets to be worth between $8.5 million and $10 million. Presidential candidate Trump still owns his main plane, a Boeing 757 nicknamed “Trump Force One,” which he used to travel during the 2016 campaign.
Terms of the deal were not confirmed, but Federal Aviation Administration records show the plane’s registration was changed from the Trump Organization’s DT Air Corp. to MM Fleet Holdings LLC, a Texas company with the same address as Centurion American. The Daily Beast It was first reported. Moayedi could not immediately be reached.
Moayedi is an avid Republican financial supporter, donating $100,000 to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Gov. Greg Abbott and various conservative national political action committees during the impeachment trial in Austin last year. He has also developed residential and commercial projects in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including purchasing the Mesquite Rodeo grounds and Dallas’ historic Statler Hotel.
According to Federal Election Commission records, Moayedi donated a total of $245,000 to President Trump’s reelection campaigns in 2019 and 2020. Moayedi also donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to other campaigns, including Sen. Ted Cruz’s reelection campaign and the Republican National Committee.
Moayedi’s company last month announced plans for a development that would build about 1,100 luxury single-family homes on 836 acres in northwest Fort Worth, and is also handling a $230 million renovation of the landmark Statler Hotel in downtown Dallas.
