A Dallas real estate veteran has started his own firm.
With experience in both the industrial and office sectors, Stephen Hawley founded Hawley Developments, which focuses on speculative industrial development.
Most recently, Holley launched Dallas-based Stillwater Capital’s industrial platform, which has purchased over 200 acres of land and built 3 million square feet of industrial space in Allen, Austin, Forney and Fort Worth.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunities I was given at Stillwater. I made a lot of close relationships there, but it was time to start my own firm,” Holley said, noting that the liquidity event helped provide him with the opportunity to start his own firm and allowed him to leave Stillwater on good terms.
“We have a great business plan and solid financial backing, so we’re excited about the future of Holley Development Company,” Holley said.
This includes a joint venture with Dallas real estate developer 42 Real Estate.
After eight years in the Navy, Holly returned to Dallas and worked for Staubach and Co., during which time she met Scott Roman, owner of 42 Real Estate.
He has been in contact with Roman for the past 20 years, and Roman was a founding director of Carry the Load, a nonprofit organization that Holly started in 2011 with Clint Bruce.
While 42 is best known in Dallas-Fort Worth for its adaptive reuse projects throughout Deep Ellum, the company also has an extensive industrial portfolio that includes nearly $1 billion in custom industrial projects for Fortune 500 companies across the U.S. and Canada.
Holley Development Co. will initially focus on D-FW and Texas more broadly, but may consider opportunities outside the state.
