Earlier this month, Fort Worth-based drone light show company Sky Elements appeared on the nationally broadcast “America’s Got Talent” show, showcasing their impressive night sky tricks and earning a “Golden Buzzer” from Simon Cowell himself.
A 400-foot-tall, 300-foot-wide display projected into the sky outside the show’s studio showed a rocket launch and Cowell flying through the air as an astronaut waving his hands and doing a spacewalk, with the AGT logo projected above him.
“It really felt patriotic,” Cowell told the Sky Elements team after the demonstration, “The way the story was told, the use of music, whether you’re three or 100, I think you’re going to love this audition.”

First drone light show to receive FAA fireworks approval
In May, Sky Elements announced it had become “the first drone light show company in the U.S. to receive FAA approval to mount fireworks on drones.”
The company worked for 26 months to obtain the exemption before the FAA finally approved it, allowing Sky Elements to legally attach fireworks to drones and set them off during the show, creating what’s known as a “pyro drone show.”
This isn’t the first time SkyElements has made history: On July 4, 2023, the company won a Guinness World Records title for the largest aerial drone sculpture (using 1,002 drones). And last December, the company broke two more Guinness World Records when it put on a 1,499-drone show in North Richland Hills.
And when Grande Prairie hosted Major League Cricket’s historic opening match last July, Sky Elements celebrated the landmark day with a drone light show.
Not just across North Texas, but across the U.S.
Next week’s DFW show is just a small part of the vast number of events Sky Elements has booked across the U.S. You can see the company’s master list of performances by clicking here , which includes a surprising number of patriotic shows taking place around the Fourth of July this year.
