XPeng (XPEV) recently underwent a major organizational restructuring led by new president Wang Fengying, who is celebrating his first anniversary in office.
The restructuring, reported by local media outlet Jiemian, includes changes to marketing, human resources, data, manufacturing and product planning.
Former Great Wall Motors general manager Zhang Li joined XPeng a few months ago to head the manufacturing division, while Jiang Ziyang, previously a senior consultant at consulting firm Ries Strategy, now leads product planning. There is. Huang Ronghai, former head of XPeng's data intelligence center, is currently in charge of human resources, and his former human resources director Chen Dan has left the company.
XPeng notified executives of the restructuring details via email last week. President Wang, who assumed the position on January 30, 2023 and is responsible for product planning, portfolio management and sales operations, expressed dissatisfaction with Xpeng's (NYSE:) performance over the past year, leading to these changes.
XPeng's smart driving and car connectivity division was not significantly affected by the reorganization, as research and development-related operations are under the responsibility of CEO He Xiaopeng. Mr. Li Liyun, who is in charge of smart driving, and Mr. Chen Yonghai, who oversees the Internet center, report directly to Mr. He.
XPEV stock fell 3.16% in afternoon trading on Monday.
