The Dallas Cowboys' cornerback room faced adversity early in the season and had to adapt quickly.
While it is expected that the situation in the room will change next season, who has shown a performance that can live up to expectations this season?
Evaluating the 2023 Dallas Cowboys Cornerbacks
The Cowboys' 2023 cornerback room consisted of Trevon Diggs, Stephon Gilmore, Daron Brand, Jourdan Lewis, Nashon Wright, Eric Scott Jr., Noah Igbinoghene, and Josh Butler.
After a season of growth and learning, Scott remains one of the Cowboys' most interesting prospects heading into the 2024 season.
Diggs was placed on injured reserve early after sustaining a season-ending ACL tear during practice before Week 3. This led to the team changing defensive backs for the remainder of the season.
Stephon Gilmore 2023 Rating
Gilmore was acquired in an offseason trade with the Indianapolis Colts and continued to benefit the Cowboys throughout the year.
He played 93.64% of the defensive snaps this season with 68 total tackles, two interceptions, 13 pass deflections and one forced fumble.
The veteran was a leader in the team's locker room and quickly earned the respect of both the team and coaches.
Gilmore has become an integral part of the secondary. He is set to become a free agent this offseason, but the Cowboys will need to find a way to keep him on another contract.

It was the second time in the past three seasons that a Cowboys player led the league in interceptions. The first was Trevon Diggs (11) in 2021.
His historic accomplishments this season have put him in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year.
He had a hard time breaking up when bullied by quarterbacks, but there is room for growth in this aspect heading into his third season.
JORDAN LEWIS 2023 RATING
Lewis spent the past seven seasons with the Cowboys and is scheduled to become a free agent this offseason.
