George Thomason, a Sussex County real estate agent and associate broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty, is a member of Delaware County with more than 4,400 members and is being promoted by longtime broker Bette Gallo. He was appointed as the 2024 president of the Realtors Association on January 12th. The ceremony, held at Wild Quail Golf & Country Club, included the installation of all members of the organization's current year's officers and board of directors.

As Chairman, Mr. Thomasson will chair all meetings of the DAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee and serve as an ex-officio member of all DAR committees and working groups. He will also serve as the association's official spokesperson on issues related to Delaware's real estate industry and the local housing and commercial markets. He will also represent DAR and its members on the National Association of Realtors Board of Directors and at local, state and national events.
A native of the Washington, D.C., area, Mr. Thomason's journey in the industry began in 1987 when he obtained his D.C. real estate license. His career began with his life partner of 30 years, Michael Sprouse, co-founding the Ekreticos Museum in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., before moving to Delaware and joining Gallo in 2003 at Realty (now and various businesses until he rekindled his passion for real estate. BHHS PenFed Realty). He also serves on the Lewes Historic Preservation and Architectural Review Committee.
Mr. Thomason boasts notable accomplishments within the Sussex County Association of Realtors, including serving as President in 2022. Also, in 2023 he will hold the important position of Chairman of the DAR Public Policy Committee, and since 2018 he has been a respected Director of the DAR. With this extensive background, Thomason brings a wealth of experience and consistent leadership to his new role.

Board members appointed from Sussex County are SCAOR President Adrian Gallagher, Bruce Plummer, Kevin Thorley, Alison Stein, Joe Maggio, and Dr. Susan Jobe. Sussex County's Chrissy Steele, immediate past president of DAR, and her SCAOR National Association of Realtors board member Trina Joyner were inducted as at-large members.
