The Texas Rangers visited Dallas City Hall on Wednesday to present the World Series trophy to Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson and the City Council.
The Arlington-based Texas Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks in five games in November to win Major League Baseball's World Series. This was the team's first victory.
But at CandysDirt.com, our version of “Inside Baseball” means a peek inside the properties of former and current Rangers players.
If you missed this October feature, see where Texas Rangers, past and present, live.
Let's start with the retired Rangers second baseman who recently rejoined the club's front office.
Ian Kinsler
when Ian Kinsler When he was traded to the Detroit Tigers in 2013, we wondered if he would sell his home on Greenbrier Drive in University Park. We looked for several places for him in fancy areas of metro Detroit.
Thankfully, longtime Dallasites and their lovely family continued to live in their 7,777-square-foot home with five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. The retired player returned to the hearts of Texas Rangers fans (not that he left) when he joined the Rangers' front office as a special assistant to GM Chris Young in February 2023.
The Kinsler home pictured here was listed for $3.99 million in 2008, and while it looks quite different on the outside, I'm sure it's just as well on the inside.
In fact, you can see a dark and dramatic look at the listing's interior design in this post from our archives.
mark teixeira
Retired Texas Rangers first baseman Mark Teixeira likes real estate in Dallas-Fort Worth. Back in 2010, our sister site SecondShelters.com reported that “Tex” maintained a second home at 2220 Kingfisher Drive in Vaquero, about 25 minutes from Dallas. (Probably about 45 minutes for him. Dallas traffic has been going on for over 10 years.)
A few years later, Teixeira leased the 8,554 square foot home to none other than then-New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton. Then check out this place.
From the list:
This stunning property is located on 1 acre of waterfront property in the famous golf community of Vaquero. From ideal floor plans to expansive outdoor spaces. The master suite wing features a private spa patio and fire pit overlooking the golf course. The upper area has his three secondary bedrooms and a large game room. A separate casita is perfect for guests. The large covered patio with electric screen is perfect for entertaining. ”
