A bug in Apple Podcasts causes listeners to miss the latest released episodes of their favorite shows. The bug, which appears to be affecting a significant portion of shows that released new episodes yesterday, causes the Apple Podcasts app to not display the latest episode in a user's library and instead automatically download it and click “Next.” ” means do not display in the queue.
A workaround would be to manually find the exact episode in the search tab, but that would require the user to be aware that a new episode was released in the first place.
The hero image is an example of what happens. As you can see from the screenshot on the left, the episode list for the podcast “The Ankler” does not include his February 16th episode, which was published. There is no change even if I refresh the screen. The Apple Podcasts app library is blissfully unaware of its existence.
It's unclear exactly how many shows will be affected, but it appears to be a significant number, with complaints flooding in on social media. Personally, this bug has plagued at least two of the shows I subscribe to. This morning I noticed that the new Friday episodes of both shows were not showing up in the app.
This appears to be an issue with the Apple Podcasts backend, and we hope Apple can roll out a server fix that transparently resolves the issue.
The immediate workaround is to use the episode filter toggle,[検索]The solution is to manually search for the name of the podcast in question in the tab. You can then scroll down the results to find new episodes (see the far right screenshot above).here[再生]Pressing will update the library list and next queue as usual.
