Personally, I'm happy to see Mike McCarthy back and likely re-signing Dak Prescott. This team is trying to overcome difficulties and starting over is not the answer. But no one cares what I think. That's what the players in the locker room really think. With McCarthy in the final year of his contract and the Ducks struggling again in the playoffs, is the rest of the team still working with these two? There have been a lot of conversations lately that are clearly concerning. – William Henderson/Memphis, Tennessee
Nick Harris: There was definitely concern on social media over the weekend when the families of CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons voiced their displeasure with Dak Prescott and others following Dallas' early playoff exit, but in the locker room, the season moves on. As time went on, he continued to trust Prescott and McCarthy. -Even when things don't go well. Since then, Parsons stood by his teammates and vision over the weekend in Dallas, and players continued to show their support for Mike McCarthy and Prescott in locker room availability after the season. Next season will require a unique approach that will have a huge impact on McCarthy's future, and everyone will need to truly understand what he brings in 2024. One small mistake can lead to trouble sooner than success.
Mick Spagnola: William, unless you're coming out of this building or locker room, don't join in on that chatter. First of all, I can't imagine these players not supporting Dak Prescott. Not after this year's regular season, when he led the NFL with 36 TD passes and a career-high QB rating of 105.9, ranking second in the NFL and third in yards. He passed and finished second in completion percentage. As Bill Parcells once said, you don't see that at Texaco. And before he tries to blame Mike McCarthy for the playoff loss to Green Bay, he should look himself in the mirror. I don't know if the coverage on defense was all McCarthy's fault, but that was the biggest problem this team had. As you probably noticed in most of the second round playoff games, not all quarterbacks were completely efficient, but their defense helped keep them in the game.
