A Dallas man was shot and arrested after trying to stop a robber from stealing his father's truck. Dallas police announced that 30-year-old Alejandro Deleon has been charged with the murder of Marco Ramirez.
Carla Ramirez said her brother's absence is especially felt by her father.
“My father doesn't work now because his brother was his right-hand man. He was his eyes, his ears, his everything,” she said. “Since him, [Marco] Now that I could walk, I went to help my father. ”
Marco Ramirez, 24, was shot and killed last week while chasing robbers who were trying to steal his father's truck. It happened on Parry Avenue. Carla Ramirez said she cornered the robbers in her own truck as they tried to flee in her father's truck.
Marco then began firing at them from outside the truck, she said. He was shot in retaliation and died in her arms. She says her latest arrest is just the beginning of seeing justice.
“Mostly sadness, anger, everything, because like my mom said, nothing I do will bring my brother back,” Ramirez said.
Now, the family is adjusting to a new normal, she said. DeLeon's bond is set at $750,000. Police have not released the names of other suspects who may be involved.
Police are asking anyone who knows anything about this incident to come forward and speak with detectives.
