Gurgaon: The district administration has ordered banning registration of units of two developers who have not deposited the fee for structural audit. It has also issued notices to three other developers who had claimed to have conducted structural audit of their projects for not sharing the audit reports. Around 38 high-rise buildings are being audited following complaints by residents about structural defects following the vertical collapse of Tower D of Chintels Paradiso in February 2022, killing two women. The administration took the step on the recommendation of the enforcement wing of the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP), asking the revenue department not to register sale deeds of these developers. “While the first round of visual inspection of the first phase has been completed, in the second round non-destructive testing has been done and some builders have deposited the money,” said district town planner (enforcement) Manish Yadav, adding that some developers have conducted structural audits themselves through consultants appointed by the administration.
