Chief Eddie Garcia provided an update Monday afternoon on the Dallas police officer-involved shooting that occurred on Thursday, Nov. 16. Last Thursday morning, a Dallas police officer was shot in the leg during a shootout with a murder suspect. The police officer is believed to be safe. The officer was working with the U.S. Marshals Task Force on an execution at an apartment in the 9900 block of Adreta Boulevard around 6 a.m., according to the police department. A new study of 26 of the nation's largest downtowns finds that downtown Dallas is barely bouncing back from the pandemic. Last week, Bloomberg's Richard Florida published an interesting article about what's driving downtown's growth since the pandemic. He reviewed new research by Paul Levy and researchers in Philadelphia's Center City neighborhood. Redmond Municipal Airport announced Monday that American Airlines will offer seasonal nonstop service to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport starting in May.
