“Slow Burn: Becoming Justice Thomas” took home Podcast of the Year honors Tuesday night at the fourth annual The Ambies Awards, which recognize audio excellence.
Awards were presented in 27 categories Tuesday night at a ceremony held at the JW Marriott LA Live Los Angeles in Downtown Los Angeles and streamed live on Podcast Academy's YouTube channel. The ceremony was hosted by “RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars” Season 3 winner Trixie Mattel.
“This is amazing,” said Joel Anderson, host of the latest season of Slate's podcast “Slow Burn.” “Becoming Clarence Thomas” traces the life of the Supreme Court justice and his rise from young radical to conservative icon.
Wait for It, hosted by Ronald Young Jr., won the most awards, including Best Indie Podcast, Best Indie Podcast Host/Host, and Best Society & Culture Podcast. Won three Ambies including;

The award for best business podcast went to Bloomberg's “Spellcaster: The Fall of Sam Bankman-Fried.” Host and producer Hannah Miller said the cryptocurrency prodigy is scheduled to be sentenced on March 28th. “I'd like to think we played a small part in seeing justice served,” Miller told the crowd.
Troian Bellisario and Josh Close of “Pretty Little Liars'' won best fiction writing for QCODE Media's drama “Ad Lucem.''
Other top category winners include “How Did This Get Made?” (comedy), “Ghost Story” (documentary) and “50 Years of Hip Hop” by Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael and Jason Mantzoukas ” (Entertainment), “PREVIA: A”, etc. Technology Heist” (fiction).
