It was a win for Coppell, a city of 43,000 just north of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
COPPELL, Texas — Suburban development in North Texas is growing, creating a lot of competition for everything from the best schools to the best cities to rent in to the safest communities.
Everything needs rankings, and North Texas suburbs usually rank pretty well.
So it can be considered a victory for Coppell, a city of 43,000 people just north of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
Coppell was ranked No. 5 this week by Travel + Leisure magazine on its list of America’s Most Livable Suburbs, making it the only North Texas city to make the top 10 on the list.
Cinco Ranch, west of Houston, was the only Texas suburb on the ranking, coming in at No. 2. Johns Creek, Georgia, north of Atlanta, took the top spot.
The rankings focus specifically on affordable housing, top-ranked schools and employment opportunities.
Here’s what Travel + Leisure magazine had to say about Coppell:
With beautiful parks, top-ranked public schools, restaurants, independent boutiques and coffee shops, Coppell attracts many families and people looking for a quiet, laid-back lifestyle near the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area.
“Its convenient location near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport makes it a great location for those traveling for business or pleasure,” said Deb Borrell, executive vice president of relocation for Allie Beth Allman & Associates.
Coppell was also ranked as the second best place to live in Texas (after Cinco Ranch) and the third best place for public schools in the Lone Star State.
The current median home price in Coppell is $643,116, according to Zillow, but Borell noted that the area offers a wide range of housing options at different price ranges.
One more thing I would like to add here is that these rankings are in front An alligator was spotted in Coppell last week, but we don’t blame the city.
