Boingo Wireless, the connectivity innovator that brought next-generation wireless solutions to iconic venues such as Grand Central Terminal, Hollywood Bowl, London's Heathrow Airport and the World Trade Center Oculus, has opened its new headquarters at The Star in Frisco.
Last December, the company announced its move from Los Angeles to North Texas, joining a number of recent companies relocating from California to Texas. The announcement was made by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who said the move will create 247 new jobs and generate approximately $1.48 million in capital investment. A $517,400 grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund was awarded to Boingo to facilitate the relocation.
Boingo's 15,000-square-foot Frisco office is located near many of the company's major customers, high-tech talent and technology partners in the state, the company said. Local leaders, community members, business partners and employees gathered for an open house to name the “state-of-the-art” headquarters.
Boingo CEO Mike Finley said the company is “proud to be a part of the growing Frisco community.”
“We would like to thank our local leaders for their continued support as we grow our business and team here,” he added in a statement. “Texas is a growing technology hub, and we look forward to doing business here with our partners and customers.”
A neutral host portfolio of 5G-ready wireless solutions
Boingo says its Neutral Host portfolio of “fast and secure” 5G-enabled wireless solutions simplifies complex connectivity challenges. The company added that its network helps connect more than 1 billion people annually at major airports, train stations, military bases, hospitals, stadiums, hotels and commercial buildings.
The company rolls out high-speed mobile phone services for all Tier 1 carriers. It also powers IoT devices to deliver “operational efficiency improvements,” along with a variety of services that help provide the connectivity backbone needed for businesses in the 5G era.
Increase your presence in Texas
Boingo is already familiar with Texas. The company designs, builds and manages the neutral host cellular distributed antenna system at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort, home of the PGA of America. The system is designed to bring “best-in-class cellular coverage” to the luxury complex, enabling seamless and secure mobile connectivity for staff, players and guests.
Boingo provides an integrated network for Dallas Love Field Airport, Austin FC's Q2 Stadium, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. It also introduced expanded connectivity to Sheppard Air Force Base, north of Wichita Falls.
The company said it will continue to maintain regional locations in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Las Vegas.
Boingo earned two Best Places to Work honors in 2023. And as Veterans Day approaches, the company announced that he is a four-time recipient of the Gold HIRE Veterans Medallion Award, the only federal veteran employment award recognizing corporate achievement. Veteran recruitment, retention, and professional development efforts.
