In hopes of making a difference in the housing and shelter sector, real estate agents at the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB) will be awarding $500,000 in grants in 2024.
“Everyone has the right to safe housing,” Catherine Chou, CREB Realtor Community Foundation Board Chair, said in a news release.
“Through our Community and Transformation grants, real estate agents are committed to keeping Calgarians in their homes and supporting them by improving the quality of their homes through renovations and repairs.”
Anyone interested in applying for a Community Grant or Transformation Grant can do so until June 28th.
“All eligible organizations are strongly encouraged to apply for these grants for additional support to their projects,” Chow said.
The CREB Realtor Community Foundation will be awarding $105,000 in community grants and $45,000 in transformational grants this year.
“We look forward to learning more about the amazing and hard work being done in our community,” Chow said.
There is also a third grant program through the Foundation, which is expected to reopen for applications in 2025.
This year, the company will present a $350,000 Legacy Grant to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) on June 19th.
“This donation is the third in a three-year funding agreement totaling $1 million to support an expansion project that will more than double the number of households that RMHC can support,” CREB said in a statement.
