Dallas police are trying to figure out how the driver ended up driving his car into the side of a house.
The incident happened Wednesday night near Abrams Road and Lowell Street in east Dallas.
The driver suffered minor injuries, but no one was inside the home at the time.
Daena Acosta said she heard a thud nearby and went outside.
”[I] “I came out here and saw my neighbors running, and of course when you see people running, you start running,” she said. , “Oh my god,” you know?
She saw a car crash into the house next door.
“It's like it jumped into my house. It's insane,” Acosta said.
Acosta said he called 911 after making sure other neighbors and the driver were safe.
“He was just very staggering and very, very disoriented,” she said.
She said she found the driver's dog roaming a few houses away and stayed there until an ambulance removed the driver.
The homeowner's father, Barry Feig, came from Houston to see the house. He told NBC 5 that his daughter had just left for the airport three hours before the accident.
“If someone had been there, he could have easily died,” Feig said..
Feig said her daughter was flying out of town.
“She was on the plane, so I texted her in all caps, 'Nobody's hurt, but we have a little problem,'” he said.
He said the destruction was upsetting.
“I just hope he gets his license revoked for a while. Forever. Really. I hope he gets his license revoked forever,” he said.
But he's grateful for at least one thing.
“So no one got hurt, so happy Thanksgiving. That's a blessing,” Feig said.
