Today is a very important milestone for our team. He has reached his 500th episode of the Healthcare IT Today Interview series. To celebrate, we've prepared a special conversation with John Lin, Colin Hung, and Brittany Quenby.
What started as a blog primarily based on articles and founder John Lin's experience in the healthcare IT industry has expanded to include a vast array of content provided by experts within the industry and around the world, as well as a few of our own. I grew in knowledge. A variety of media such as articles, videos, and podcasts.
Like many things in this world, the Healthcare IT Today Interview podcast was born with its first episode in the middle of the pandemic on July 20, 2020. Many of us had a desire to do something to help people in difficult situations. Healthcare IT Today was no exception. As Colin Hung explains in the video below, we wanted to “…get the word out to healthcare IT companies that were struggling at the time.” To make that happen, he proposed doing his 100 interviews in his 100 days. Although we didn't quite reach that goal, we were able to generate a lot of content in a very short period of time.
With all these interviews at hand and a desire to share them as much as possible, the idea of starting a podcast was brought up to go beyond the articles and videos we've been doing and offer the interviews in podcast form to the community. Ta. born. We never could have predicted how much of an impact it would have since then.
Currently, 500 episodes have been released (Note: This does not include episodes of Healthcare IT Today or the CIO Podcast.), The Interview Podcast's content has been viewed approximately 750,000 times across podcasting platforms, video, and social media, but its impact goes far beyond the numbers. Our listeners tell us how our interviews keep them up to date on what's happening in the healthcare IT industry. The listeners we interviewed also shared their stories of how they found valuable information from the stories we tell, and how it helped them get involved in the health IT community. Even if the deal goes through.
According to John Lin, that's exactly the secret to our success. “A lot of people always ask, what is the model for Healthcare IT today? It's about being able to tell good stories that help IT leaders do their jobs better.” Good stories come from good people and good companies. I would also like to add that.
Colin took it to the next level. “In order to create a video, I had to make a successful podcast. I needed to do the same thing that I did with my articles.” Simply publish an article, put it on your website, and let people read it. It's not enough to expect people to come find you. ” This is reflected in the level of social media push all these interviews received. LinkedIn, YouTube, Spotify, X/TwitterInstagram, and TikTok are all part of an effort to get the interviewee's message out to as many people as possible.
As you can imagine, it takes a team to make it happen. Our team of approximately 20 people all play a role in organizing, interviewing, recording, editing, writing, and promoting these videos. We couldn't do it without them all.
Watch the video below to learn more about the history of the podcast, some of John, Colin, and Brittany's favorite memories, their influences from the interview, and a teaser about the future of the podcast.
500 interviews in 500 days? 500 interviews in one conference? only time will tell.
