Conan O'Brien recently spoke with a guest from Lancaster on his podcast, “Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend.”
O'Brien's guests are usually celebrities on his podcast, but he sometimes invites fans to join his episodes.
The Thursday, April 11, episode of the Amish Brotherhood podcast featured a caller identified only by his first name, “Daniel from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.” (Last name was not provided.)
Danielle talked a little about her acting experience, including on the short-lived NBC show “Do No Harm,” and her current job growing and selling flowers.
At the beginning of the call with O'Brien, Daniel said he was calling from “Amish land, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.”
Naturally, O'Brien was interested in the topic and was surprised to learn that even ordinary people use cell phones.
“It gave me a whole new perspective on the Amish,” O'Brien said.
Daniel then prompted O'Brien.
“Conan, have you ever thought about becoming Amish?'' Daniel asked. “So, what is your name and occupation? Do you think you can answer with a Pennsylvania Dutch accent?”
Listen to his response around the 12 minute mark. The episode contains explicit language and is available to watch on O'Brien's Team Coco site and streaming services.
O'Brien's new show, “Conan O'Brien Must Go,” premieres Friday on Max. As part of promotion for the series, O'Brien appeared on an episode of Hot Ones, where he made a splash by drinking hot sauce straight from the bottle.
