Frisco, Texas — It's been an offseason full of reflections for the Dallas Cowboys, but it's finally time to get back on track and work towards their goal of finally ending the team's long Super Bowl drought.
It all officially begins on Monday, April 15th, with players rushing to report to their facilities to begin their offseason conditioning programs. Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, no practices have yet taken place, but players and coaches are allowed to meet, train and rehabilitate injuries.
The latter will be key for notable players like Trevon Diggs, DeMarvion Overshawn, Maji Smith, Luke Schoonmaker and John Stevens Jr.
Overshawn, Stevens, and Diggs are working their way back from torn ACLs sustained in August and September, respectively, while Smith and Schoonmaker underwent shoulder surgery this offseason and are currently in July. He is well on his way to training camp.
Needless to say, most of the names mentioned above will be important to the Cowboys' success going forward. Overshawn is expected to step into the NFL spotlight as soon as he is healthy after his redshirt rookie season, while Diggs is making his return. He hopes to quickly step up to his usual first-team All-Pro status.
Smith and Schoonmaker, who were the Cowboys' first and second round picks, respectively, a year ago, are at their respective positions, especially with Jonathan Hankins lost to the Seattle Seahawks. It is expected that it will have a big impact. free agency.
But keep an eye on Stevens as well, considering the fact that he went down with a season-ending injury after being the star of camp last summer.
There's a lot in store for a lot of people in 2024, so it's of the utmost importance that every minute of the offseason program is put to good use, and again, it pays off right away.
