Ice cream lovers, rejoice: there’s a new cone in town.
Crispy Cones LLC, maker of Czech-style desserts, has been awarded a franchise deal for 10 stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Franchisee Aman Tamana said he plans to open his first North Texas location in Southlake in December or January.
The franchise agreement gives Tamana development rights for four and a half years in Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Rockwall and Tarrant counties. Tamana, a California native who now lives in Dallas, said he will invest $4 million to $4.5 million to open all 10 stores.

The cone is baked rotisserie-style, covered in cinnamon and sugar or crushed Oreos, and can also be served with spreads like Nutella or peanut butter, before being topped with soft serve ice cream.
Krispy Cones was featured on the television show “Shark Tank” in March 2024, and owners Jeremy Carlson and Kaitlyn Carlson signed a franchise expansion deal with businesswoman Barbara Corcoran.
In addition to Tamana’s 10-store deal, the company plans to open three more Crisp Cones stores in Collin County, bringing the brand’s total number of stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to 13, said McKinley Quast, vice president of franchise development.
The cost to open a Crispy Cones store ranges from $284,750 to $543,000, according to the company’s franchise disclosure documents. Quast said the final amount depends on the state and market values. A typical Crispy Cones store is about 800 to 1,200 square feet.
“DFW is an ideal market for Crispy Cone because of its strong economy and community support for innovative food concepts,” Quast said. “What better place to launch Crispy Cone than a place like DFW, with its diverse population and foodies.”
The dessert chain plans to open two locations in Austin and one in Houston. It currently has six locations across Utah, Idaho, Arizona and Florida.
