Days after Dak Prescott was accused of trying to extort him out of $100 million, a woman and her attorney have filed a civil lawsuit against Dak Prescott, alleging that he sexually assaulted her in 2017. filed a lawsuit.
The woman and her attorney allege that Prescott sexually assaulted her on or about February 2, 2017, according to a civil complaint filed Thursday and obtained by CNN. Dallas police confirmed to CNN that they received a report of a sexual assault on Tuesday.
The woman alleges that Prescott sexually assaulted her while the two were traveling in a black SUV to a strip club in the Dallas area. According to the complaint, Prescott allegedly exposed himself to the woman and when she refused his advances, he used force and raped her.
Prescott's attorney, Levi McCathern, denied the allegations against the Cowboys quarterback, calling the lawsuit an “illegal shakedown” attempt.
“Timing is critical here,” Macassan said in a statement to CNN on Thursday. “First, an extortion investigation began. She did not turn herself in to police for over seven years. But they (lawyers and accusers) realized that the $100 million extortion scheme had failed and that they had found themselves the subject of a criminal investigation. When they realize that they have committed a crime, they file a police report in another jurisdiction for the first time.[.]”
On Monday, Mr. Prescott filed a lawsuit accusing the woman of trying to extort $100 million from him. In an 11-page lawsuit filed in Collin County, Prescott's attorneys allege that in January, the woman's attorney sent an email to a football player to a third party at Mississippi State University, Prescott's former college. He claims to have sent the email.
The newspaper said it would not file criminal charges against Prescott over the February 2017 sexual assault charges in exchange for compensation.
Meanwhile, police in Prosper, Texas, have launched an investigation into Mr. Prescott's extortion claims and confirmed to CNN that they have met with one of Mr. Prescott's attorneys.
CNN reached out to the NFL and the Cowboys but did not immediately receive a response.
