FRISCO – Police are investigating allegations that Dak Prescott sexually assaulted a woman outside a strip club in February 2017, the Dallas Police Department confirmed to CowboysSI.com. This all comes on top of the Dallas Cowboys quarterback filing a $100 million lawsuit against Dak Prescott this week. His accuser claimed she was the mastermind behind an “extortion scheme.”
A woman filed a complaint Tuesday, seven years after the incident, alleging she was assaulted by a quarterback in the back seat of an SUV in a strip club parking lot.
And the NFL is probably paying attention.
“As a new father of a baby girl, Mr. Prescott has great empathy for victims of sexual assault,” Levi McCathern, Mr. Prescott's attorney, said in a statement. “He fervently believes that all perpetrators of such crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
“To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. Lies are hurtful, especially malicious lies. They are attempting to extort millions of dollars from Mr. Prescott. We will not allow the defendant and her legal team to profit from this attempt.” ”
Bethel Zehaie, the attorney for accuser Victoria Shores, countered that “(Prescott) is a liar and a rapist.”
In the complaint, Prescott said the accuser's attorney sent a letter to the accuser in January demanding $100 million in exchange for keeping quiet about the accusations related to an incident that allegedly occurred in the parking lot of the XTC Cabaret strip club. He said he had sent a letter.
The woman's attorney said Mr. Prescott admitted to being with the woman on the night in question. Makasan admitted that the two remained friendly over time.
And what does the NFL have to do with this?
The outcome of the police investigation and trial could help the NFL decide whether to take its own action. In fact, the terms of the CBA approved by the NFL Players Association allow NFL players to be found guilty in order to be punished, as the Cowboys are well aware considering their experience with Ezekiel Elliott and his six players. It's not even necessary. -Match canceled.
Elliott was once accused of domestic violence, but was never proven guilty. Despite this, in 2017, Elliott was suspended for six games in the NFL.
Yes, the NFL is paying attention. Prescott's genuine reputation as a good NFL citizen (he was named the league's Man of the Year in 2022) may help him in the commissioner's job. And of course, if he can prove his innocence, that would theoretically lift his ban from the league. …but not necessarily.
