Dallas-based American Restoration was acquired by investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Capital Partners (MSCP), Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s middle-market focused private equity team.
American Restoration is a company that provides damage mitigation and restoration services for residential and commercial properties. MSCP said it will partner with the current management team, led by CEO Dan Tarantin, who will continue to lead the business.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“I couldn’t be more excited to partner with MSCP for the next chapter of our company’s growth and evolution,” Tarantine said in a statement. “I look forward to leveraging MSCP’s expertise in the residential and commercial services sectors and their proven ability to support the team in accelerating organic growth and executing strategic acquisitions.”
American Restoration operates in 10 states through eight regional brands.
The company provides emergency and loss-related mitigation services, as well as complementary follow-on repair and rebuild services, to both residential and commercial customers. The company says it has grown into an industry-leading platform through a combination of strong organic growth, strategic M&A and a focus on customers in need.

MSCP said the acquisition marks its fifth residential and commercial services investment, following partnerships with Sila Heating & Air Conditioning, Fairway Lawns, Allstar Services and RowCal.
