history:
Ryan Flournoy had zero star recruiting and little interest coming out of high school. He enrolled at the University of Central Missouri in 2018 and redshirted his first year. The following year, he had 17 receptions for 170 yards, but missed time due to an injury to his ACL.
In 2020, Flornoy transferred to Iowa Western Community College. He had a team-leading 545 yards, five touchdowns, and 38 receptions in 2021. The following year, Flournoy transferred again, this time to Southeast Missouri State. He led the RedHawks with 1,016 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 62 receptions.
In Flournoy's final season, he was named team captain. He appeared in nine games and had 59 receptions, 825 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns. He also gained 62 yards on four carries and scored one touchdown. He missed time due to a hand injury.

Good things:
- Has the size and structure of a typical modern outside wide receiver
- An incredible athlete with a rare combination of speed, power, strength and explosiveness.
- Excellent ability to point to high balls
- Great versatility to play everything from slots to backfield and jet sweeps
- He has good hands, is reliable, and can make catches with steady concentration.
- Demonstrate elite ball tracking skills and ability to retrieve the ball.
bad person:
- Not suitable as a route runner
- His routes don't have much definition and get rounded off too often.
- The footwork is sloppy and there is no explosive power from the break.
- Easily exposed to media coverage
- Played at a low level of competition and never really had a tough challenge
- Steep learning curve to break into the NFL
- He will turn 25 later this season.
Fit:
Ryan Flournoy is a dynamic and versatile receiver with a very attractive ceiling. He is physical with good upper and lower body strength, which he can use to maneuver around defensive backs. His obvious athleticism jumps off the screen the moment you start watching the tape. His speed and power make him useful not only as a receiver, but also as a blocker and in the running game. He throws all his catches up the middle and isn't afraid to throw himself out to make the catch. He also has the ability to jump high and make plays above the rim, and has the speed to break away and make huge chunk plays in the open field.
Route running is Fleurnois' biggest weakness and major flaw. He lacks pop and explosiveness off the break, but this is largely due to the fact that he doesn't have to learn that because he can use his athleticism to physically out-compete. It is something. This can be a serious problem in the NFL, where he can't create clean separation by curling up on top-off routes, and defenders are much more athletic. The level of competition he has played in also raises questions about how Flornois can handle the pace and steep learning curve he currently faces to become a player looking to make the active roster.
Overall, Flournoy is a perfect fit as an X-type receiver in the NFL, with plays designed to take advantage of his ability to play in the backfield and short routes. He has great ball-tracking ability and speed to play deep downfield, and is better than most players in contested catches. He's not going to be the highlight of any offense, but with some coaching points on his route running, he could easily develop into an outside rotational receiver and be productive enough. .
