It's official…Mike Zimmer is the new defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.

It took longer than it should have, but it happened.
Mike Zimmer is the new defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.
Rumors broke last Thursday night that the Cowboys were gearing up to hire Zimmer, with the caveat that nothing had been officially announced. Super Bowl weekend unfolded, but nothing much happened other than Rex Ryan publicly saying why he was interested in the job. There was even some confusion on Monday about whether Ryan was legally back in contention for the position.
But that's over now. Now that both sides have agreed to terms and Mike Zimmer is the newest defensive coordinator, all the thoughts and feelings I had about this idea beforehand are valid and doable.
This was a very weird situation near the end, but at least it's finally over. The Cowboys can move on.
