BATON ROUGE – Dallas Cowboys assistant coach Lunda Wells will be the keynote speaker at the 2024 LSU Coaches Clinic on campus April 4-6.
Registration for the clinic is now open and coaches can register at this link: https://lsusports.net/footballcamps/. Registration for the three-day clinic is $65 and includes meals. The coaches plan to enjoy a crawfish boil Friday night.
Wells, a Baton Rouge native, is currently the tight ends coach for the Dallas Cowboys. Wells, a two-time All-SWAC first-team offensive lineman at Southern University, began his coaching career at Scotlandville High School in 2006.
From there, Wells moved on to LSU, where he served as an offensive line assistant for two years and then worked on special teams for two seasons. Wells moved to the NFL in 2012 and spent eight years with the Giants. He joined the Cowboys in 2020 as tight ends coach.
Wells will address the group Friday at 12:15 p.m., followed by LSU head coach Brian Kelly at 2 p.m. Kelly will talk about LSU's mission to alumni champions and “The Path,” a roadmap for LSU players to achieve success during their collegiate careers. Describe your time in the program and how you will carry it forward into a successful career after graduation.
LSU's offensive and defensive coaches will discuss the run game with clinic participants starting at 10:45 a.m. Friday, followed by a passing game session at 3:45 p.m.
Also on Friday, Kelly will appear on the PIVOT Podcast with former Tiger Ryan Clark, which will be recorded on the indoor facility's main stage at 5 p.m.
LSU staff members scheduled to speak to the group include Nick Brossett (Director of High School/Alumni Affairs), J.R. Belton (Director of Recruiting), Dr. Matt Frakes (Director of Sports Nutrition), and Austin Thomas (Senior Associate AD/Football Manager). Management), Dr. Damon Arnold (Assistant AD for Player Development), Jake Flint (Director of Athletic Development), and Owen Stanley (Director of Athletic Training).
The clinic will conclude after LSU football practice Saturday morning at Tiger Stadium.
