The Dallas Cowboys are in a difficult situation going forward regarding the contracts of quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and defensive superstar Micah Parsons. But it doesn't seem like the team is actively addressing any of them, which could make those situations even worse.
As Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio points out, the Cowboys “have shown no inclination to do anything but delay, delay, delay” when it comes to signing Lamb and Parsons, but just It was the same deal they got with Dak Prescott. The current dire situation.
“That's how they got into their current mess with Prescott. After three seasons as a fourth-round, day-one starter, the Cowboys didn't offer him a fair contract, and his four-year contract They put the matter on hold until it expired. They then used the franchise tag and did not sign a long-term contract by the mid-July deadline, so the matter was postponed again. When faced with the prospect of not having the ability to punt for another year (a third tag would have given him a 44 percent raise over a second), the Cowboys panicked and sent Prescott for four. “It was a $1 million contract that guaranteed him $160 a year and would be available on the open market without an extension,” Florio wrote in Pro Football Talk.
“Right now, they seem happy that he's out of contract and on the market in 2025. Basically, he's going to be next year's Kirk Cousins.”
The Cowboys clearly have a terrible situation with Prescott, and it looks like Lamb and Parsons are going to do the same.
