The 2024 NFL Draft is now a thing of the past, with all seven rounds completed and hundreds of dreams realized. Oklahoma State didn't have a draft pick, but there was a lot of activity after that, including former Cowboys joining the team as undrafted free agents.
This will cause NFL Draft gurus to shift their focus to the 2025 NFL Draft class and mock draft, which also includes Oklahoma State talent. The Associated Press has pulled down a 2025 NFL mock draft with draft orders based on potential win totals according to betting lines.
Of course, superstar Ollie Gordon was drafted in the first round and headed to his ideal spot. In this scenario, the Dallas Cowboys would select Gordon's services with the 27th pick.
The Associated Press wrote, “Cowboys capture cowboys to satisfy their desire to run back.”
The Cowboys lost star running back Tony Pollard this offseason, sending Ezekial Elliott back to Dallas. We needed a cheaper option to find production in the backfield. They will have the same needs next offseason and could use the pick to land a bonafide star player in the first round.
There's a reason Gordon is ridiculed as a first-round pick as a running back. Last season, he won the Doak Walker Award. In Oklahoma State's first three games, he played sparingly and touched the ball sparingly. He finished the season with 1,732 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns on 285 attempts. He added 339 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown to his totals and finished seventh in Heisman voting.
Obviously, Gordon is a superstar. He returned to Stillwater, and he chose an offense that was an incredible fit for him. He will only improve, put up better numbers, and improve his draft stock and Heisman chances. He would also help the Dallas Cowboys find a superstar playmaker out of the backfield.
