Cowboys Free Agency: Assessing the Likelihood of 14 Players Returning in 2024 – BloggingTheBoys.com, Tom Lyle, Roy A. White III
Which movement do you think is the most important?
of dallas cowboys I'm still waiting to see what happens to Dan Quinn. Until his future is determined, leaving is still the most likely outcome, but they can't do anything about the potential changes on the defensive side of the ball, and for now they have at least It looks like he'll be guarding at least a large portion of the offense and special teams staff.
So we shift our focus to free agency. Teams cannot do anything with outside free agents until the legal tampering period begins, but teams can sign new contracts with their own free agents at any time.
RB Tony Pollard
This is much less complicated, but not as precisely cut and dried. Although many view Pollard's 2023 season as disappointing, he still ranked 12th in the league in rushing yards. Like Schultz last year, he's looking to finish playing on the tag.
Obviously, the team would expect him to play for much less than the $10 million he received on the tag. Spotrac estimates his worth $6.6 million per season. Additionally, a running back is the opposite of a left tackle. It is considered one of the most replaceable positions. The cowboys like their guys, but they might choose to let him look for work elsewhere.

Frisco, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys are working this offseason under head coach Mike McCarthy to find ways to translate continued regular season success into a postseason berth in 2024, but several At least there can be some consolation that the players finished the game. We are taking a new step toward 2023.
MVP: Dak Prescott, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy.
Offensive Player of the Year: Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Lamar Jackson, Tyreek Hill, Christian McCaffrey
Cowboys free agent signings: Derrick Henry, Patrick Quinn among top targets – Cowboys Country, Jonathan Alfano
With Tony Pollard gone, Dallas could end up acquiring a running back or two.
First, the Cowboys are already in the red, more than $11 million over next year's salary cap, according to Spotrac. Second, this is shaping up to be a pivotal offseason for Dallas, with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons, and others on the verge of major contract extensions. These extensions may reduce his cap hit in the short term, but will likely prevent the Cowboys from signing big multi-year contracts in free agency.
So while the Cowboys are expected to go after some small fish on the market, no one is completely ruling out the possibility of Jerry Jones making a splash. With that said, who should Dallas keep an eye on as free agency approaches?
1. RB Derrick Henry
Henry, a two-time rushing champion with the Tennessee Titans, is by far the biggest name on this list and one of the biggest names in free agency overall. The 30-year-old may not be a spring chicken anymore, but he proved he can still play at a high level this season with 1,167 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
