Everyone should be looking forward to seeing DeMarvion overshadowed by the Dallas Cowboys next season.
On Tuesday afternoon, Overshawn, who is in the later stages of his recovery, attended a fan event at Academy Sports + Outdoors in North Frisco, where he was able to play games with fans in the backyard and sign autographs. Even though his first year in the NFL was marked by challenges, his smile was as big as it was when he first stepped into The Star 11 months ago.
“I knew how much it meant to me to be a part of an event like this, so to see the faces of the kids and the people who took the time to do something like this meant so much to me. That's something,” Overshorn said. “Any time they have a chance to go out and be involved in the community, I'm always there for them. I'm sure some kids will remember that.”
Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said last week in Indianapolis that he expects Overshawn to be ready for training camp in July, along with Trevon Diggs, who is also recovering from a torn ACL. Recovery is progressing as planned.
“With six months to go, we are fully committed,” Overshorn said. “Everything is going well. It's starting to move. We're ahead of the curve. It's just a process…This wasn't what my rookie year was supposed to be, but I'm going to stand up and move on. We do it every day.”
If there's any positive to take away from the torn ACL, it's that Overshawn isn't alone in his recovery. In addition to Diggs, who tore his ACL in late September, Overshawn was able to rehab along with fellow rookie tight end John Stevens Jr. and wide receiver David Darden.

As Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott awaits word on whether he will receive a contract extension with the team, former Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman believes Prescott is the right fit.
Prescott is 2-5 in the playoffs during his time with Dallas, but Aikman believes the 30-year-old still has his “best years” ahead of him with the franchise.
“He's going to be here a while longer, as he should be,” Aikman said. via Patrick Walker. “He's proven he can play at a high level. I know he hasn't been good as a team the last few years, but he's a great player in this league. His best days are yet to come. ”

Troy Fautanu, Otto State, WA
There was a lot of talk during the offseason about Troy Fautanu and his versatility. Some commented that the best way to be successful is to play guard in the NFL. That idea is still on the table, but drafting him as a tackle is now a very real option. While being measured, his height was officially announced as 6 feet 3 inches and his weight was 317 pounds, perfectly fine for making tackles. The main concerns for Fautanu were reach and arm length, but his arm length is 34.5 inches, which would put him in the right range among offensive tackles. Fautanu also had a good day in the athletic test. He came in at 1.77 seconds. He recorded a 10-yard split (69%) and a very fast 5.01 seconds. 40 yard time (90%). His 113-inch (92%) broad jump showed explosive power that proves he has all the tools to be an offensive tackle in the NFL. The problem for Dallas is that Fautanu falls short of the Cowboys' pick and could be a top-20 pick. That means if they want him, they might have to go get him.
Xavier Worthy, Texas
The Cowboys used seven of their 45 official interview options at the wide receiver position.She was one of the receivers the Cowboys spent time talking to, and the Longhorns' burner Xavier Werty. But he has proven he is much more than that, and his 26 career touchdowns at Texas prove that fact. For Dallas, they would have considered Worthy a prospect outside of the top 50, but after his performance at the combine, he's now in the top 40.
