The Dallas Cowboys announced their 2024 coaching staff on Tuesday, most notably officially promoting defensive backs coach Al Harris to assistant head coach.
“Al has been a very influential member of our coaching staff and team. We look forward to his leadership in this expanded role,” Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said in a statement. .
“He is an extremely capable mentor and motivator, and our entire team will benefit from him taking this high step. We are grateful for Al's dedication, teamwork, and dedication to the game. His understanding of the game, his experience in building the unique dynamics needed to support a championship locker room are all part of what makes him a special fit for this area.”
Further additions to the staff include new defensive assistants Greg Ellis (Assistant Defensive Line/QC), Cristian Garcia (Assistant Defensive Backs/QC), Paul Gunther (Defensive Run Game Coordinator), and Jeff – Includes Zgonina (defensive line). This group will serve under new defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, replacing Dan Quinn, who departed this offseason.
The only addition on offense was assistant Steve Simko.
