LAS VEGAS — Jerry Jones strolled down the red carpet Thursday night on his way to the NFL Honors Ceremony, but his new defensive coordinator was not there.

Zimmer spent 13 seasons with the Cowboys, serving in various roles under four head coaches, including defensive coordinator. After his departure, he served as defensive coordinator in Atlanta and Cincinnati before taking the head coaching job in Minnesota.
The Vikings' record during Zimmer's tenure was 72-56-1. Mike McCarthy was in Green Bay for most of that time. The Cowboys head coach has spoken in the past about how much he respects Zimmer and the way his team plays.
Quinn informed the Cowboys on February 1 that he was leaving his position to become head coach of the Washington Commanders. At a series of meetings held at The Star that day, it was decided that the club would expand its search beyond internal candidates.
