Temperatures in Dallas-Fort Worth are expected to be “seasonably hot” by the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters say high temperatures will be in the 90s at DFW International Airport throughout this week, with heat indexes approaching triple digits. Low temperatures will be in the 70s.
There is a slight chance of rain in the area overnight, but scattered thunderstorms are likely in the area on Friday with a low risk of damaging wind gusts. The risk of rain will continue through the weekend and into early next week.
There were no weather warnings or watches in effect for Dallas-Fort Worth as of Tuesday, but heat watches were in effect for parts of Central Texas starting Tuesday afternoon, and severe storms were expected to move into East Texas on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
The Met Office warned that further rainfall could increase the risk of flooding across the region due to saturated soils and full reservoirs.
