The Dallas Mavericks could be without both of their star players for their final regular season home game of the season.
Kyrie Irving (left hamstring strain) was ruled out for Friday's game against the Detroit Pistons, and Luka Doncic (left ankle strain) was listed as questionable. Rookie center Derek Lively II (right knee sprain) was also ruled out, and coach Jason Kidd said he would not play in either of the final two games of the regular season.
With Wednesday's win over the Miami Heat, the Mavericks have already clinched the Southwest Division title and are well on their way to finishing fifth in the Western Conference. The Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers are scheduled to meet in the first round of the playoffs.
Irving has played in 31 consecutive games with Dallas. Irving scored 25 points against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. Irving earned a pair of $1 million incentives for playing in his 58th game of the season and leading the Mavericks to 50 wins on the season.
Doncic had 29 points, nine rebounds and nine assists against the Heat, but has only missed two games in the past month, including last Friday's game against Golden State due to soreness in his right knee.
