On Thursday night, Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks to a 124-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.
Doncic finished with 36 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals on 14-of-22 field goal attempts and 6-of-10 three-pointers in 37 minutes of playing time.
The Mavericks are now in the NBA Finals where they will face the Boston Celtics.
After the big win, Doncic post The video, posted to Instagram, garnered more than 1.1 million likes and nearly 9,000 comments in less than 15 hours.
Doncic captioned the post, “Special teams! 💯💯💯.”
Doncic is coming off another outstanding regular season this year, averaging 28.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game on 43.8% shooting from the field and 34.3% from three-point range in the first 17 games of the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
The Mavericks were the fifth seed in the Western Conference and defeated the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder in the first two rounds (and then the Timberwolves).
Doncic is a top-three player in the NBA despite only being in his sixth season, and has reached the Western Conference finals twice in the past three seasons.
This will be his first time in the NBA Finals.
Game 1 of the series will be played in Boston on June 6th.
Meanwhile, the Celtics are in their second NBA Finals appearance since 2022, having beaten the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers in the first three rounds.
