Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had his best game last time out in the playoffs, posting a game-high 34 points on 14-of-27 shooting, eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and two steals. Luguentz Dort had 17 points and eight rebounds, and did a great job of guarding Luka Doncic. The Mavs superstar finished with just 18 points on 6-of-20 shooting, but a lingering knee injury likely had something to do with it.
According to ESPN, Dallas led by as many as 14 points at the start of the second half, giving the Mavs a 92.1% chance of winning at that point. However, the Thunder cut the lead to just four points by the end of the third quarter and dominated in the fourth despite making just 7 of 27 shots for the game.

Prediction for Game 5 between Mavericks and Thunder
Game 5 felt like it was the end for the Mavericks. Not only did he blow a big chance to take a 3-1 series lead, but Doncic looked tired and lacked the agility to break through Dort's on-ball defense. Head coach Jason Kidd has yet to find a way to effectively use Doncic and Kyrie Irving as a tandem, and he doesn't expect that to change in Game 5.
The young Thunder clearly have fresh legs at the moment, and we can expect a tremendous defensive effort in a big Game 5. If the series is tied 2-2, the team that wins Game 5 will have won 83% of the series. time.
Spreads are already moving up to 4.5 at sportsbooks, so if you love the Thunder as much as I do, bet early.
DAL vs. OKC selection:
- Thunder -4 (-110)
- Doncic less than 27.5 points (+105)
