The Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder will face off in a best-of-seven NBA playoff Western Conference semifinal series starting Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at Paycom Center.
The Thunder were the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference despite being the NBA's second-youngest team entering the season, but experts expect the Mavs to pull off an upset victory. I wonder?

Get ready for a lot of brilliance between Doncic and Irving. Pressure doesn't affect them. But the question is whether they can maintain that level of play throughout the series. It will be tough against OKC, who finished the regular season in fourth place in the defensive rankings. Gilgeous-Alexander gave solid performances throughout the season, along with a supporting cast that was a near-perfect fit. The Thunder have more depth and are healthier overall.
Series Prediction: Thunder in Seven
Justin Martinez, The Oklahoman
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are lethal on offense, and Dallas' defense has improved significantly since adding Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington at the trade deadline. Still, I'm giving OKC the edge. Lu Dort will at least make it difficult for Doncic, and Chet Holmgren will prevent him from finishing in the paint.
Series Prediction: Thunder in Seven

This is sure to be a series that goes far and back. The Mavericks have been one of the best teams in the league since the All-Star break, and both teams are on even footing. The Thunder need to play the entire A-game series. It will take all seven games, but the Thunder will win in a thrilling battle against the Mavericks. Home court advantage in Game 7 should be a big help for OKC.
